Robert Andrén
Robert Andrén was until recently Director General of the Swedish Energy Agency, where he was responsible for national energy policies, international energy relations, and European energy policy issues. During his tenure, he served as vice-chair of Mission Innovation, an UN-initiative launched under the Paris Agreement to foster clean energy innovation. Before leading the Swedish Energy Agency, Andrén held several prominent roles, including Deputy Director General at the Ministry of Agriculture, the Ministry of Rural Affairs and the Ministry of Environment and Energy. He was County Director and Deputy Governor of County Värmland and has also worked at the Swedish Environmental Protection Agency, focusing on environmental quality objectives, and contributed as a senior advisor for the Swedish Foundation for Strategic Environmental Research. Robert Andrén started his working career at the Swedish Board of Agriculture and holds an M.Sc. in Biology and a Ph.D. in Population Genetics.
